Adjustment to college life can bring many stresses, some of which may become unmanageable for students. Developmental issues, family conflict, mental health conditions and substance abuse can all contribute to student struggles.
The University of Great Falls counseling services office provides crisis intervention, grief counseling, emotional wellness information, decision making counseling, and referral for off campus therapeutic services. The counselor also serves as a resource to the campus community in regard to mental health issues and works with Residence Life to train and support the residence hall staff.
Students may access counseling services themselves by calling for an appointment or just stopping by if the counselor is available. Faculty and staff can refer students of concern or obtain information which may be beneficial to the student. There is no charge for the counseling, which may be short term or ongoing.
