LC State Sweeps Season Series With Argos
Great Falls, MT – The Lewis-Clark State Warriors (12-11, 3-6) came out blistering the nets at the McLaughlin Center on Saturday night as they rode their 53% shooting to a 15-point halftime edge en route to a 67-57 victory over the University of Great Falls Argonauts, snapping a four-game skid in the process while handing the Argos (6-17, 2-7) their third straight setback. Lady Argos No Match For #11 LC State
Great Falls, MT – The Lewis-Clark State Warriors improved to 22-3 (8-1 in conference) on the season by defeating the University of Great Falls Lady Argonauts for the third time this season, this time by a 75-41 final. The Warriors, ranked #11 in the current NAIA national poll, were 78-50 winners in both teams’ Frontier Conference opener back on January 7 in Lewiston, ID while also taking a non-conference match-up with UGF, 76-54, also in Lewiston on December 11. With the loss, the Lady Argos drop to 3-18, 0-9. More>

UGF Track & Field Competes At Mountain States Invite
Pocatello, ID – Over the weekend, the University of Great Falls track and field teams competed at the Mountain States Invitational hosted by Idaho State University. UGF was one of 10 teams that competed as the field included seven NCAA Division I programs. More>

#10 Westminster Tops UGF...Again
Great Falls, MT – Friday proved not to be the night for an upset as the #10-ranked Westminster Griffins (17-5, 7-1) bested the University of Great Falls Argonauts 55-42 at the McLaughlin Center. The Argos came in, having won two of their last three and primed for an upset bid against the current conference leader, but a slow pace and Westminster’s grind-it-out style proved to be too much as the Griffins won their 24th consecutive meeting with the Argos; UGF (6-16, 2-6) has never beaten the Salt Lake City-school. #14 Westminster Downs Lady Argos
Great Falls, MT – The #14-ranked Westminster Griffins invaded the McLaughlin Center tonight, and bounced back from their first loss in league play by downing the University of Great Falls Lady Argonauts 75-46, dropping UGF to 3-17 (0-8 in conference) on the season. UGF Women's Soccer Earns Academic Honors
Great Falls, MT - The University of Great Falls Women’s Soccer team has earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Adidas Women’s Team Academic Award, the NSCAA announced. This is the first time the program has received the honor. In addition, seniors Kelsey Chytka (Laramie, WY), Randi Hollen (Chattaroy, WA), and Jessica Selmer (Laramie, WY) were named to the 2009 NSCAA Scholar All-West Region Team. Selmer was named to the First Team while Chytka and Hollen were named Honorable Mentions. More>

Tale Of Two Halves Spells Doom For Argo Men
Helena, MT – After taking a 10-point lead into halftime and leading by as many as 14 points early in the second half, the University of Great Falls men’s basketball team experienced a prolonged scoring drought and couldn’t overcome the surging Carroll Saints at the Carroll P.E. Center on Saturday night. On the strength of a 44-19 second half, the Saints emerged victorious over the Argos yet again by a final score of 62-47. More>

Lady Argos Fall To Rival Carroll
Helena, MT – The University of Great Falls Lady Argonauts fell to 0-7 in Frontier Conference play (3-16 overall) as they dropped an 81-56 decision to rival Carroll College at the Carroll P.E. Center. With the win, Carroll bumps their record to 12-10, 3-4 and moves into a four-way tie for fourth place in the conference. More>

UGF's Brooks Moving On To Spring Hill College
Great Falls, MT – University of Great Falls Interim Athletic Director Arunas Duda announced today that men’s soccer coach Tim Brooks has accepted an offer from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama to the same position. Brooks will join former University of Great Falls Athletic Director Jim Hall who left the Electric City in October of 2009 to become Spring Hill’s Director of Athletics. More>

Argos Pick Up Elusive Road Win
Billings, MT – The University of Great Falls men’s basketball team made a little bit of history on Thursday night in defeating the defending national champion Rocky Mountain College Battlin’ Bears 72-68 at the Fortin Center. In doing so, the Argos (6-14, 2-4) pick up their first road win of the season and their first win at Rocky since the basketball program was re-introduced to campus some 10 years ago. With the loss, Rocky drops their second straight after starting the conference season 4-0 and falls to 9-12 overall. More>
