The Main Event, Advancing the Argos 2012 Auction & Dinner, took place in the McLaughlin Center at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2012.
Argo Athletics has a proud history of support from the Great Falls community. We are excited to continue to offer our community the chance to enjoy the fast-paced, thrilling, world of college sports right here in Great Falls. With 13 teams and more than 370 dedicated student-athletes, Argo Nation is growing every year. By attending The Main Event, you become part of our winning team – those who give it their all in competing for our University and those who support their achievements and take pride in our campus and our community.
This year’s special guest was Cathy Rush, a three-time national championship winner and the inspiration for the major motion picture The Mighty Macs. Coach Cathy Rush was the head women’s basketball coach at Immaculata from 1970-1977. She led Immaculata to three consecutive AIAW national titles from 1972-1974. Overall, she guided the Mighty Macs to 6 consecutive final four appearances in her seven seasons with the college, attaining a 149-15 record. Rush was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on April 7, 2008. She was inducted into the women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2000 and the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.
The Main Event began at 6:00 p.m. with a social hour, silent auction, and no-host bar. Dinner began at 7:00 p.m. followed by a program at 7:45 p.m. and then a live auction and raffles at 8:15 p.m.
