GREAT FALLS, Mont. - The University of Great Falls Athletic Department is proud to announce senior Ryan O'Neil was named to the 2011 NAIA Men's Soccer All-American Second Team. Argos bow out of Men's Soccer National Tournament. ORANGE BEACH, Ala.–The University of Great Falls Men’s Soccer Team fell to # 6 Gran View University of Des Moines, IA in the 2nd round (Sweet-16) of the NAIA National Championship Tournament. More> 

 

 

Alabama, Here We Come! PORTLAND, Ore.–The University of Great Falls Men’s Soccer Team is headed to the Sweet-16 of the NAIA National Tournament for the second year in a row.  The Argonauts beat the Cavilers of Concordia University, Oregon 3-2 in upset fashion to advance to the second round of the tournament.  More>

NAIA Fall Sports Scholar-Athletes Announced

 Great Falls, MT – The NAIA has announced the fall sports student-athletes that have been named 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. The University of Great Falls had 14 student-athletes named to this honor for men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, and men’s and women’s cross country. Women’s soccer and volleyball had the most recipients with four a piece. More>

Great Falls' O'Neil Tabbed Honorable Mention All-American  Kansas City, MO - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2010 NAIA Men's Soccer All-America Teams, as selected by the NAIA Men's Soccer All-America Selection Committee. Men's Soccer Falls to Science & Art of Oklahoma Orange Beach, AL It was a roller coaster kind of game for the men’s soccer team of the University of Great Falls. The Argos went into halftime down 2-0 to the Drovers of the University of Science & Art of Oklahoma. However, Great Falls quickly turned things around early in the second half to tie the score at two, and then again at three, before eventually falling 3-4 in the first sudden-victory overtime period. UGF Men's Soccer Upsets #2 Simon Fraser Tukwila, WA The University of Great Falls men’s soccer team continued their historic post-season run today with an upset win over second ranked Simon Fraser University (BC) in opening round action of the 2010 NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship. The Argos put away a goal halfway into the first half to win 1-0 over the Clan. More>

Great Falls Men's Soccer Wins Conference Championship Omaha, NE It was another hard fought game for the Argos’ men’s soccer team but a late goal by defender Marius Theodorsen lifted Great Falls past Bellevue University (NE) in the Unaffiliated Conference Championship this evening. The win advances Great Falls to the first round of the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in school history. Not only did the Argos win their first conference title but the team also redeemed their loss to the Bruins in the semifinals of last year’s Unaffiliated Conference tournament. More>

UGF Men's Soccer Wins First Round Game Omaha, NE It took two overtimes for the University of Great Falls men’s soccer team to beat Montana foe Rocky Mountain College in first round action of the Unaffiliated Men’s Soccer Independent Tournament. Junior forward Ryan O’Neil captured the game winning goal with only a minute remaining in the final sudden death overtime period. More>

Men's Soccer Finds Redemption As Women Drop Close One

Great Falls, MT – The University of Great Falls men’s soccer team was looking for redemption today when they took on Rocky Mountain College after the Bears handed the Argos a 3-1 loss which was only their second of the season. The game was tied up at ones at the break before the Argos offense open things up in the second half eventually winning 4-1. The women faced the same Frontier Conference foe for the first time but dropped a tight match 2-1. More>

Salt Lake City, UT – The University of Great Falls men’s soccer team won a 2-1 decision against Westminster College in overtime on Saturday afternoon in Salt Lake City. The Argos would hand the Griffins only their second loss at Dumke Field in eight games this season. More>

Argos Play Olivet Nazarene to 1-1 Tie Salt Lake City, UT – The University of Great Falls men’s soccer team met the Olivet Nazarene University Tigers for a neutral site game held on the campus of Westminster College. UGF Men's Soccer Announces 2010 Recruiting Class GREAT FALLS, MT – First-year University of Great Falls men’s soccer coach Paul Zazenski announced his recruiting class of 2010 today. The Argos get practice underway next month and are looking to build on last season’s program-record 15 wins and a runner-up finish at the MCAC/DAC/FC Independent Tournament last November. Zazenski Announces Coaching Staff Additions GREAT FALLS, MT – First-year University of Great Falls men’s soccer coach Paul Zazenski has announced the hiring of Mike DeMara and Robby Modad as his assistant coaches for the upcoming season. Both DeMara and Modad bring impressive backgrounds to the Electric City and they look to aid in the continued growth and development of the Argo soccer program which begins competition next month after a highly successful 2009 campaign that saw the team rack up a program-record 15 wins. UGF's Obregon Gets Shot At Nicaraguan National Team Great Falls, MT – University of Great Falls men’s soccer player William Obregon has been selected to participate in a grueling, six-week long training camp in hopes of being selected to play for the National Soccer Team in his home country of Nicaragua. Obregon, a midfielder, scored two goals and assisted on another while making 18 starts this past season as a junior in helping the Argo men’s soccer team to their best season ever with a 15-5 record.  Men's Soccer Adds More Accolades   Great Falls, Mont.  – Long after the season has finished, the University of Great Falls men’s soccer team is still receiving awards. This January, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) named the NAIA’s national coach of the year. Although, University of Great Falls men’s soccer coach Paul Zazenski did not receive the award, he was one of eight finalists nominated. Zazenski earned the nomination by being tabbed the NSCAA Northwest Region Coach of the Year. More>
