I grew up in a small rural community near Hot Springs, Arkansas. I am the oldest of four blended sisters and one brother. I graduated from a small k-12 school that I attended from first grade through twelfth grade. My family traveled and sang southern gospel music on the weekends and I loved traveling and singing with them. They have several albums out and a few feature songs by me or me and my sisters.

I moved to Montana after graduation from high school. I began attending the College of Great Falls in my mid-twenties as a non-traditional student. My senior year the College was granted university status, and I had the privilege of belonging to the first graduating class from the University of Great Falls. After graduation I taught for nine years in the Great Falls public schools in elementary and middle school classrooms both in general education and special education. I am currently working toward a PhD in Education specializing in Exceptional Child Education.

I attend a local church and lead a contemporary worship band. You can hear the live recordings from our weekly services at I often have the privilege of singing the national anthem at the local Dodgers games and enjoy leading our campus community in our alma mater at school functions. I love making and listening to music!

I quilt in my free time with many quilters from our university campus. Many examples of my quilting experiments can often be found in my office in Sullivan Hall. An Argo quilt for our department walls is on my agenda for this year.
